Meet the Photographer
Hi, my name is Kata
The eye and heart behind Antu Photography
Antu means light in Mapudungun, the native language of the Mapuche people from my native country, Chile.
My journey in photography began in 2006, when my father gifted me my first camera. From that moment on, I fell in love with chasing light and capturing raw emotion—especially in black and white.
In my solo years, I traveled the world with my camera, drawn to the quiet strength and resilience of women I met across cultures. Later, while working at a cancer treatment center, I witnessed how illness challenged women’s identity and beauty. Through photography, I aimed to reflect the light and wholeness I saw in them.
Now, as a mother, my journey continues in a new way. I bring my studio to women—especially new mothers and those in transition—offering a safe, artistic space to be seen, celebrated, and remembered.
Antu Photography is where my two worlds meet: the artist I’ve always been and the mother I’m becoming. Let’s create something honest, beautiful, and meaningful—together.
